STORY WALKS

I love writing site-specific work and have created a format to share this love with the world - story -walks! I have created a number of story-walks in Bristol - in Clifton and in Irish Bristol. Described as 'innovative' and 'an absolute joy' by audiences, my walks are regularly sold out. I lead walkers on a stroll through the city, combining a smattering of history with some chunks of fiction inspired by the history, architecture, people and contemporary life of Bristol.

Watch out for new walk dates, or book your own walk for your event or celebration now!

WRITING WORKSHOPS

I run creative writing workshops for small groups of writers at all levels of experience. These workshops are currently taking place on Zoom. The workshops are warm, friendly and inspiring.  They run from 10.00-12.30pm on Saturday mornings. I also run a monthly short story discussion group on a Wednesday night. All groups and workshops are bookable on Eventbrite - click here to see what's coming up.

LITTLE POTATOES

Little Potatoes, a powerful, bittersweet comedy-drama set in China about marriage, mothers and family-planning.

FESTIVE DOORSTEP STORIES

My company A Word In Your Ear and Kilter Theatre teamed up for Christmas 2020 to bring some festive cheer to the doorsteps of Bath. Creating a 'traditional carol singing meets story deliveroo' event, we visited audiences outside their homes to read them Christmas stories - have a look at the pics here. I had two stories on offer on our Twelve Stories of Christmas menu: 'A White Christmas' and 'Robin Hood And The Rule of Six'. You can read 'A White Christmas' on the lovely Fairlight Books website, where it was published on Christmas Eve.

FORAGED FICTIONS

Kilter Theatre and A Word In Your Ear joined forces in summer 2018
to create a promenade collection of site-responsive stories at Prior Park. Small audiences set off through woods & fields across our spectacular skyline to discover each short story uniquely set in the World Heritage Landscape that inspired it.  We are planning future Foraged Fictions in other locations - please get in touch if you know of a site which might be suitable.
